Funding changes to Australian Apprenticeship Centres

Published: 12 June 2012 Category: Industry News

The government has announced the outcome of the funding application process for Australian Apprenticeships Centres.

Funding changes to Australian Apprenticeship Centres

Australian Apprenticeship Centres (AAC’s) are the businesses that hold federal government contracts to sign up new or recommencing apprentices into a training contract with an employer.

Across Australia, 23 organisations have accepted two-year contracts worth more than $400 million to deliver Australian Apprenticeships Support Services for apprentices and their employers.

A full list of successful organisations across each of the 22 tender regions can be found on the Australian Apprenticeships website.

These changes are effective 1 July 2012 – so until then for all AAC’s it is business as usual.

What do this mean for if your AAC lost its contract?
If your AAC did not retain a contract or lost part thereof, you will be contacted in the coming months to facilitate a transfer to an AAC who does have a contract or they will simply advise you of your new AAC - effective 1 July 2012.

The experience of the ApprenticeConnect team has seen past changes implemented effective immediately upon 1 July.

However the transfer of individual files may take longer and in turn delay the registration of training contracts and potentially the issuing and processing of government incentives.

For further advice on how to transfer your electrical apprentice we recommend you contact your AAC or the ApprenticeConnect team on 1300 663 793 or [email protected].
