For half a century, B.E.G. has stood for innovative solutions that inspire homeowners. Whether presence detectors, motion detectors, sensors or actuators, whether for controlling lighting, dimming, room temperature or air quality - B.E.G. products enhance the comfort and safety of buildings worldwide and increase the flexibility of room utilization. Building automation can significantly reduce energy consumption and operating costs in new buildings and modernised existing buildings.

The company laid the foundations for the comprehensive B.E.G. range in 1975 with the development and production of emergency lights, which still have a place in the B.E.G. product portfolio - today, of course, with energy-saving LED technology. After a devastating fire destroyed the young company's entire premises in 1979, B.E.G. managed to quickly rebuild the administration and production facilities and build on the successes of the early years. In 1986, B.E.G. began manufacturing motion detectors and automatic lights under the brand name LUXOMAT® - subsequently giving its name to several generations of motion detectors, which were primarily used in the outdoor areas of buildings and mainly for security purposes. In response to the rapid development of building automation, B.E.G. began developing and producing presence detectors and brightness sensors in 2000.

Today, B.E.G. is a globally successful electrical engineering company with 14 foreign branches, almost 300 employees and more than 8000 articles. The Australian branch is located in Brisbane, where B.E.G. Australia PTY LTD was opened in April 2024 under the leadership of Country Manager Louis Oberholster.
