All the models have an excellent detection quality and an enormous range, despite being extremely flat – the installation depth for flush-mounting on the ceiling is merely 16 or 23 mm depending on the type. Not only the technology is innovative, but also the design. Due to their quadratic shape with rounded corners, the new models have an unobtrusive elegant appearance and resemble a lamp rather than a classical movement and presence detector.
Presence and movement detectors make a valuable contribution towards more comfort and energy efficiency, as they switch the light on or off as required, for example, when entering or leaving the room again.
The types, Mini Premium KNX and Premium KNX offer four channels altogether and are additionally equipped with a temperature sensor. In this way they are not only able to be used as presence or movement detectors, but also as indoor thermostats.
As a particular comfort function, it is possible with both Premium types for the light to be switched off in two stages.
Similar to the Busch-presence detector KNX (length 91 mm and surface mounting height 23 mm), the particularly compact Busch-presence detector, Mini KNX, with a length of
only 80 mm and a surface mounting height of merely 16 mm has two channels, as a movement detector or constant light switch (presence detector). These two models differ mainly with respect to their detection range. When mounted at a height of three metres the presence detector, Mini KNX, covers a maximum diameter of
8 metres, and the presence detector, KNX, a maximum diameter of 12 metres.
The Busch-watchdog Sky KNX version was developed for installations at airports, in sports facilities and warehouses, and designed particularly for high buildings. When mounted at a height of 6 metres, this model is in the position to detect persons who are moving
within a detection ranged of 18 metres, and at a height of 12 metres even within a diameter of 24 metres.
