The central element of the system, the Wi-Fi System Access Point, enables access to the project planning, startup and visualisation using a PC or tablet. Then, the functions of the system can be defined and programmed by using a 'wizard' which guides the user step by step through the required programming steps.
Preconfigured input/output units (ie. switch with inbuilt rely) for the flush-mounted box already offer basic functions without any programming, e.g. for operating the blinds or controlling the lights. So as soon as the system is installed, it can be used. Through the integration of the control elements with numerous switch programs from ABB, the new home control system offers high design quality that can be tailored to individual requirements. ABB-free@home® allows people to configure different scenes: a relaxing environment to watch a film in the evening; mood lighting for a dinner; or spot lighting for the best work environment in an office space.
Once it has been installed, the user can call up the user interface on the computer, tablet or smartphone and alter the settings themselves through an app.
Standards
ABB-free@home® is manufactured according to the international standard IEC EN 60669 (AS/NZS 60669) as well as IEC EN 50428. All ABB-free@home® devices comply with the European RoHS directive.
