This course is aimed at Electrical Contractors who wish to attain an understanding of the process for generating estimates for clients (in small to medium business environments).

This course contains a unit from UEE40606 Certificate IV in Electrotechnology—Systems Electrician.

This course is conducted over a two day period of classroom based teaching and practical work from 8am to 4pm daily.

Course Content

The course delivers the following skills to be an estimator:
  • Introduction to common terminology applied to the estimating environment within the electrical industry
  • Tendering, applying for a tender, Electrical Specifications and constructing an estimate for a job or call-out
  • Understanding of Labour Units
  • Checking the estimate, determining overheads and direct job costs, and managing the post estimate environment
  • Cost management of a tender process
  • How to present an estimate or tender, to a potential client
  • Dealing with the business stress of a successful tender, and managing stress within the process

    Eligibility Requirements
    You must have current experience in the Electrical Trades area for entry to this qualification e.g. Electrician.
