  • Testing of an Installation
  • Visual defects (domestic)
  • Multiple Earthed Neutral (MEN) system of earthing
  • Connection of consumer's mains and final sub-circuits to a switchboard
  • Residual current devices (RCD's)

Prerequisites

Apprentices must have successfully completed their off-the-job studies relevant to the Certificate III in Electrotechnology - Systems Electrician.

Course Requirements

Please check the directory board at the skills centre entrance for the room allocation. You will need to bring a pen, paper and calculator. There is no parking available on site. Catering will be provided.

You must wear substantial and robust footwear. Please do not wear open toed footwear or sleeveless shirts as this is against NECA Skills Centre's OH&S policy.

The following books are required on the first day of the course and can be purchased from the NECA Skills Centre. Please note that the latest edition of any standard includes relevant amendments.

  • AS/NZS3000 Wiring Rules.
  • AS/NZS3017:2007 Electrical Installations - Verification Guidelines.

Licensing Exam bookings are made by contacting EPIC ITB on 9654 1299.

Students will not be required to attend classes for more than 8 hours a day.
