Australian Cable Makers Association

The ACA has been established to support and grow the Australian cable manufacturing industry and to promote safety in the Community.

Only Australian cable manufacturers may be members of the ACA. The ACA currently has 7 members, who between them represent over 95% of the electrical cable manufactured in Australia. They are:

• Advance Cables Pty Ltd
• Tycab Australia Pty Ltd
• Bambach Wires and Cables Pty Ltd
• Triangle Cables (Australia) Pty Ltd
• Australia Pacific Electric Cables Pty Ltd

The ACA will represent Australian cable manufacturers in interactions with Governments, Government Authorities, supplier and customer associations and other industry bodies such as the EWAA, Master Electricians Australia and National Electrical & Communications Association.

The ACA will also lobby Governments, Government Authorities and Australian businesses to support and install Australian manufactured cable.

In the safety arena the ACA has launched the Approved Cables Initiative (the “ACI”) to promote safety standards by arranging independent performance testing of Australian and foreign manufactured cables sold in Australia, enforcing and upholding Australian cable specifications and standards, and, where appropriate, up-specing to meet Community expectations in areas such as energy efficiency and electrical and fire safety.
