16 Manufacturing  |  Project Feature Spritzgusswerk Ensinger GmbH Rottenburg-Ergenzingen, Germany Ensinger GmbH is a manufacturer of high performance plastics. They recently opened a new 17,000 square meter injection moulding facility in Rottenburg-Ergenzingen, Germany. Ensinger decided to use modern, efficient lighting from Siteco for their new location.  The core of the new injection-moulding site is the production hall, illuminated by a daylight roof strip and translucent glass outer walls. Supplemental artificial lighting in the form of NJ600 highbay reflector luminaires can be turned on according to needs. This reinforcement lighting achieves very high luminance levels of 600 lux. Modario ®  luminaires with multi-watt technology were installed in the highbay racking warehouse  and material supply rooms. 24 Logistics  |  Project Feature Showcase Zalando Logistics Center Erfurt, Germany Zalando, Europe's largest online dealer in shoes and clothing, opened its largest logistics center in Erfurt, Germany in late 2012. The new facility has an area of 120,000 square meters. The primary requirements for the lighting were: Minimalisation of the investment for lighting and installation and reducing the subsequent operating costs of energy and maintenance. Because their staff members only work in 16 percent of the center’s space - the remaining 84 % offered potential for saving costs on lighting. As a result,  T5 trunk lighting was chosen, including a light management system and Plug & Play components. The lighting solution contained presence detection in combination with a constant lighting control. This helped achieve maximum energy efficiency. As standard, all 13,500 luminaires in the aisles between the shelves, type Hexal ® -a 1x35/49/80W DALI multiwatt ECG, are dimmed down to 10% luminous  flux. When a staff member enters the aisle, they are recognised by the detectors and the lighting increases to the required intensity within a few seconds. 25 Logistics  |  Project Feature Zalando’s lighting installation represented a large cost factor because of its size and scale. The overall aim was to provide an easy-to-install lighting system with prefabricated components. For example, the sensors were prepared and pre-programmed beforehand as a plug in module for the DUS carrier rail. That meant that components could be mounted more quickly to the around 63 kilometers of DUS carrier rails provided by the OSRAM's subsidiary brand, Siteco.
